Nomad’s Land, videos

I’ve been shooting some footage while I’ve been on this trip. Nothing spectacular, to be sure. I was talking to my friend Gus today, though, and he thought it might be cool if I actually talked on camera about the trip and whatnot. Um… I really don’t like being in front of any kind of camera. At all. But Gus is almost always right. So here. Maybe you’ll like it. I don’t know. Yes? No? Granted, this first one is kind of, um… well, I’m not overly thrilled about the campsite.

Anyway, I’m going to try and be good about getting the videos up regularly along with the photos.

Here are all four of the videos I’ve put together so far:

  1. Scott – nice closeups of the beanie weenies – thanks for the laugh – I watched it twice.

Everyone has to hit a campsite that doesn’t quite measure up. I was able to identify with your reaction to the Alabama State Park .

  2. I enjoyed seeing and hearing the mind of the man behind the camera take a seat in the front. The remarks you post on Facebook about the daily stream of your world are always entertaining. You’re intriguing with your word choice and a great writer. Recording your thoughts and printing them, (as it were), on video, enables you to express yourself though another medium. You took a dreadful, bleak camp site and painted a humorous picture that made it enjoyable to be there. I don’t believe the ironically funny part of the situation could have been captured with a snap shot. I hope you’ll continue to make appearances and share yourself from both in front and behind the camera as you continue your journey out on the open highway. Have fun! Look forward to virtually riding with you.

  3. Correct Spelling: Beanee Weenee! . I stopped by and picked up a can in your honor today. I never cood them – eat them cold with crackers.

    Go Safely.

  4. That Alabama campground vid was incredible. That look of disgust and disappointment on your face was priceless. I was cracking up when I saw that row of dumpsters. Dumpsters for…. what? Is this where all the bodies get dumped?

Then you try to boost yourself up with the tree. Then you sort of spiral into self-meditating memories about Biloxi. I don’t even know if you were spiraling upward or downward, but all I could think was, “This guy needs to meet a few folks – quick!”.

  5. Great videos, Scott. Thank you for sharing your trip with us. You’re a natural in front of the camera.

In the thumbnail picture of your “Gulf Shores, Alabama” video, you like an extra from the “Outsider.” A Greaser, not a Soc.
