Nomad’s Land, Days 25 and 26

Vendor, Juarez, MexicoDay 25. No travel. In El Paso taking care of biznatch.

Day 26
Start – 7630.5 km
Finish – 7823.3 km
—————-
192.8 km or 115.7 mi

I will have a more complete update later today, hopefully. I’m in New Mexico at the public library in Deming. Spent the night in Columbus, NM last night after an extra day in El Paso. I’m planning to get to Arizona today.

Scooter had issues in El Paso, hence the delay. Also, I have a new and improved camera. :)

I went to Juarez, Mexico, grabbed a pepsi and some smokes.

Tip for El Paso: Bulldoze the east side of town and start over. While you have the bulldozer out, consider bulldozing the rest of the town.

Photos (nothing new yet) here.

  1. My old stomping grounds. Did you try the Adobe Deli?

If you’re in Deming, I recommend Primo’s Mexican Restaurant.

When they ask you whether you want red or green chile, say green. It tastes better.

If you go across the border in Columbus, try The Pink Store which has great guacamole and tacos.

If you check out the Casa Linda apartment complex on 200 E. Spruce, you can see where I used to live. Apartment 11.

  2. Damn, Carlos. I was ON Spruce St, at the public library. I’m taking a break here in Silver City, NM right now, about to get back on the road. Wind is killing me and my back today.

    I am in pain.

  3. Yes, I know the library. You were on the other side of Spruce. West Spruce.

East Spruce is on the other side of the main street in town, which leads to Columbus Highway.

Silver City is a cool little town. There are some caverns around there you might want to check out.

There are also some hot springs that might soothe your body between Deming and Silver City.

  4. Go safely. 139 miles to edge of Phoenix. Highway 60 from South of Phoenix to Highway 72 gets you to Parker at the California line. About 159 miles. Yoo. Pacific time or close to it.

    Talk to you tomorrow.

    Ray
