This photo makes me absolutely smile. In my mind, I picture Jennifer. I picture Jennifer pedaling this bicycle.
On shaded suburban streets, she pedals.
In sweltering downtown heat, she pedals.
And everywhere she goes, happiness spreads.
I belong to a group on Flickr called Six Word Story. The introduction to the group reads as follows:
Ernest Hemingway was once prodded to compose a complete story in six words. His answer, personally felt to be his best prose ever, was “For sale: baby shoes, never used.” Some people say it was to settle a bar bet. Others say it was a personal challenge directed at other famous authors.
I’d like you to post a photo with a Six Word Story in the title section of a Flickr photo. Be as inventive as possible. Have those few words tell the whole tale, and let the picture be its visual interpretation.
I love the six word photo/story concept of this group. It’s a pleasant challenge and fun to consider the various structures that can convey a story. Was out and about on Alton Road today sweating under the sweltering sun when I saw this.
This bicycle brought me such happiness. So thanks, Dear Jennifer, for this. You are, without question, “the awesome.”
If you have an alternate six word story for this photo, from the viewer’s perspective, I would love to read it. I see versions incorporating the girl in the background into the story. Although, it would read as fiction for me since I know she’s not Jennifer.
Miscellaneous note: If you are Jennifer, the owner of this bicycle, contact me.
Ahhh, the paint has finally arrived!
