Yesterday, Ginger showed me a CD she found on her car. No clue why it was on her car. Not a flyer. It was an actual CD which apparently people still make and buy and sell. And leave on people’s cars. I haven’t bought a CD in ages upon ages.
So I was left wondering if this was some new marketing technique. Or maybe it slipped out of someone’s hand and just happened to land on top of her car. Or maybe it was garbage that someone threw by the trash can and it took some miraculous bounce, flew into the air and then spiraled downward onto her roof. The simplest explanation is that it was a marketing technique. In any event, here we are.
Artist? Eduardo Osorio.
Title of album? En Exclusiva
I just busted open the plastic wrapping, pulled off the security strip and am listening to it as I type. Not a cheaply made CD. Inside jacket art. Art on the CD itself.
So hm. Yeah. Nice latin beats. Seems pretty mainstream. Sure, I’d recommend it. I’m pretty much groovin’ on it now, well into the album. Of course, I can’t understand a single word. Eduardo could be singing about bestiality for all I know but it’s got an altogether pleasing rhythm. Please don’t let this be about farm animals. Titles like Necesito Amor, though… I’m probably okay bobbing my head a little from side to side.
Oh wait, there was some English:
“It doesn’t matter the language….”
“something something something…”
“How much I love you… mi cielo’.”
Mi cielo. That’s not English. Wait, Mi cielo?!?! That’s chicken! No, I kid. Google Translate is giving me squat. It could be chicken, but I doubt it.
Damn you, self, for being white!
So yeah, Scott recommends. The backing label Respek Records has a nice bit about Eduardo Osorio (and other artists), and a little bit about who Respek Records is and what they promote. Miami based. Nice. Good stuff, methinks.
Definitely recommend checking out the site and listening to the tunes (hook to iTunes). You might find it fits with you nicely. And if so, you should buy a CD or download some tracks. Or you could wait for someone to leave a CD on your car. Probably quicker to buy music directly, though.
Latin beats are killer. I download the Latin free song each week from iTunes. I don’t understand any of it either. Send me that CD when you decide that you don’t want to own CD’s anymore. Then, I’ll burn it and pass it on. Together, we’ll help promote Osario and bankrupt him at the same time. Now, that is true music love.
