Defintion:
1: of or relating to a rare condition, ipanemia, a disease which consists of both a mental fixation on that dream girl, the Girl from Ipanema, and a having unique blood disorder similar to (but not at all like) anemia. In most cases (one documented), individuals who have been diagnosed as ipanemic lead relatively normal lives albeit, at times, extraordinarily unconventional. Also, people with ipanemia (again, one documented case) tend to try to do good things.

So hi. I’m Scott. I’m an artist. I live in South Beach. This is my site. This is my life and what I do.

I moved to Miami (specifically to South Beach) in the fall of 2007. When I moved here, I fell in love! I was so taken by not just all of the overwhelming beauty but also the inescapable dichotomy of poverty set against the backdrop of this luxurious paradise, that I began to photograph it with my point-and-shoot camera. At some point, a friend of mine said, “Dude, you take really good photos.” I believed him so in January of 2008, I bought my first DSLR and have been photographing life and models here ever since.

In addition to taking photos, I also produce short videos and music. And, interestingly enough, a lot of my work is right here on this very site!

As for the site itself, with over 5,700 photos online, ipanemic.com is unique in that it is presents probably THE largest online collection of street +/life photography in South Florida in an easy-to-navigate-and-explore website as well as housing one of the largest (if not largest) online collections of model photography in Miami. Again, all of this is my work.

And both of these galleries are continually expanding.
